Run tabs where your customers actually are

Most tab systems assume the customer comes back to the bar. TAB assumes they don't. Staff open and run tabs from a phone, at the table, in the garden or on the terrace — and the guest keeps an itemised bill in their own pocket.

How to serve customers outside without a terminal

Outdoor trade is where bar tabs break down. A table of six orders three rounds, someone takes a card behind the bar, the card sits in a glass, and by the time the table leaves nobody is certain what was ordered or who paid. TAB replaces that with one link and one record of truth.

  • Open the tab in seconds. Guest name, table number, phone number and the hold amount — pre-filled from the venue default so staff don't have to think about it.
  • Guest authorises on their own phone. They choose a tip (or none) and authorise the card hold. No card left behind the bar, no card details on your premises.
  • Add rounds where you stand. Quick-add tiles cover your top sellers and a numeric keypad handles anything else, so a round goes on in a few taps.
  • The bill updates live. The guest's page shows every item, the tip and the running total in real time, which ends almost every end-of-night dispute.

Table-side tabs for busy sessions

Everyone signed in to the same venue sees the same live list of active tabs, so a tab opened by one member of staff can be added to and settled by another. Tabs show table, guest, running total and status, and anything sitting unauthorised or open unusually long is flagged so it never quietly disappears.

Items can be voided before closeout with an optional reason, and every void is logged against the staff member who made it — an audit trail you can actually use at cash-up rather than a guess about who rang what.

No hardware, no install

TAB runs in the browser. There is no terminal to buy, no card reader to pair and no engineer visit. Add a phone to the rota and you have another till point; take one away and you have lost nothing. If a device reboots mid-service, staff sign back in and every open tab is still there.

Avoiding walkouts while serving faster

Serving faster normally means taking more risk on unsecured tabs. Because every TAB starts with a card pre-authorisation, the two goals stop competing: read how the card holds work.
