Provider: TAB (“we”, “us”, “TAB”), operated by TAB — Total Automated Billing at totalautomatedbilling.com. Last updated: 15 September 2026.

1. What TAB provides

TAB is software that lets a venue open guest tabs, record items, take a card pre-authorisation, settle the balance and produce shift reports. We provide the software; we are not a party to the sale of food or drink, and we are not the merchant of record for the payments taken through the venue's payment account.

2. Accounts and staff access

A venue account is created by a manager, who is responsible for who they invite, the roles they assign and the removal of staff who leave. Login credentials must not be shared, and the venue must tell us promptly if it believes an account has been compromised. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe it is being misused or where use threatens the security of the service.

3. Payments, card holds and Stripe

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Use of the payment features is subject to the Stripe services agreement between the venue and Stripe, and the venue is responsible for keeping its Stripe account in good standing and for complying with the Stripe restricted businesses list.

  • A pre-authorisation reserves funds on the guest's card and does not take payment. Funds are captured only up to the authorised amount when the tab is settled.
  • Where a tab exceeds the authorised amount, the authorised amount may be captured and the remaining balance requested through a separate payment link.
  • The venue is responsible for making the hold, the amount and the settlement process clear to the guest at the point the tab is opened, and for handling refunds, chargebacks and disputes relating to its own sales.
  • Authorisations expire under the card schemes' rules. The venue is responsible for settling tabs promptly; we provide warnings for aging tabs but cannot guarantee capture of an expired authorisation.

4. Venue responsibilities

The venue must use TAB lawfully, keep the records it produces where required by law, licence its premises appropriately, and ensure staff are trained on opening, voiding and settling tabs. The venue is responsible for the accuracy of items, prices, tips and totals it records.

5. Fees

Subscription fees are as agreed in the venue's order or as published on our pricing page, and are exclusive of VAT unless stated. Card processing fees are charged separately by Stripe. Fees may change on 30 days' written notice.

6. Availability and support

We aim to keep TAB available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be notified where practicable. Support is provided by [support channel and hours].

7. Data protection

Each party will comply with UK data protection law. In respect of guest personal data processed through TAB, the venue is the controller and we act as processor on its instructions. Our processing terms, including security measures, sub-processors, breach notification and international transfers, are set out in our privacy notice and data processing schedule.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid by the venue in that period. In particular, we are not liable for unrecovered tabs, expired card authorisations, chargebacks or discrepancies arising from information entered incorrectly by the venue's staff.

9. Term and termination

Either party may terminate on 30 days' written notice, or immediately for material breach that is not remedied within 14 days. On termination we will make the venue's records available for export for 30 days, after which data may be deleted in line with our retention schedule.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
